Mani Barajas-Alexander, USPTA, USPTR

Director of Tennis

Mani is a native of Arlington, Virginia, and has been coaching for 15 years at some of the area's premiere tennis clubs. He was a top-ranked junior player in the Mid-Atlantic and was nationally ranked.  Mani played Division 1 collegiate tennis at Longwood University in Virginia where he was a 4-year starter, singles and doubles MVP and team captain.  In 2012, he helped coach the McLean Boys Varsity team to an undefeated season and earned a District Championship.  He is currently the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at The Potomac School. In 2014, he helped lead the Potomac School Boys Varsity team to a State Championship.  Mani is also a certified professional with USPTA & USPTR.

Glenn Gerbino, USPTA Elite Professinoal

Director of Adult Programs

Prior to his current position, Glenn lived int he Southwest for the past 22 years (El Paso, TX and Scottsdale, AZ) where he was the Director of Tennis at the El Paso CC, Troon CC, and the Carefree Resort & Conference Center.  Glenn has been a USPTA Elite Professinoal for the past 26 years and currently serves as the District Coordinator for Washington, DC and Maryland in the Mid-Atlantic Division.  Glenn received the USPTA Southwest Division "Pro of the Year" award in 2008 and the USPTA Southwest Division "High School Coach of the Year" award in 2009. In addition, Glenn most recently served as the Director of Tennis at College Park for their satellite sites (Bethesda & Silver Spring YMCA's).

Glenn is also highly trained and certified in Cardio Tennis and was a member of the National Cardio Tennis Speakers Team and has conducted Cardio Tennis classes throughout the nation as well as teaching cardio at National Conference.

Ivan Pizarro, USPTR

Director of Program Development

Ivan holds a professional level certification in Junior and Adult Development with USPTR, a certification in teaching Cardio Tennis, a high performance certification from Bolletieri IMG Tennis Academy, and a Provisional Sports Psychology certification from California Southern University.  He has been coaching for 11 years, 8 specifically in the Northern Virginia area and currently, Ivan serves as the middle and upper school tennis coach for The National Cathedral School and The Potomac School.  Prior to professional coaching, Ivan played NCAA Div. II tennis at Salem International University where he obtained his Bachelor degree in International Business.

Zach Pine, USPTA 

Elite Tennis Professional

Zach has 8 years of teaching experience with students of all ages and skill levels.  He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012 where he played Division I tennis for 4 years and achieved an ITA team ranking of #16 in the nation.  At the junior tennis level, he achieved a ranking of #1 in the state of Virginia, #1 in the Mid-Atlantic section and #50 nationally.  Zach also played 4 years of high school tennis for Flint Hill School in Oakton, Virginia, leading the Huskies to 3 State championships while earning recognition as a two-time Virginia State Player of the Year and a two-time Washington Post, “All-Met” First Team honoree.  Zach is a USPTA (P-1) certified teaching professional.

Nima Golshan, USPTA
Tennis Professional

Nima has 7 years of teaching experience in developing players of all ages and skill levels.  He has trained and worked at other top tennis clubs in the including 4 Star Tennis Academy at Four Seasons and IMG Tennis Academy in Bradenton, FL.  He played 4 years of varsity tennis leading his team to district, regional, and state championships.  He is currently a USPTA certified instructor.

Houston Ward, USPTA 
Tennis Professional

Houston has been teaching players of all ages and skill levels for 4 years.  As a junior player, he was ranked in the Mid-Atlantic top 20 before joining the team at Division 2 Philadelphia University.  In college, he played both #1 singles and doubles before discovering his deep passion for coaching tennis fueled by a love for learning and sharing knowledge.  Houston is also a USPTA certified professional.  He believes that coaching is a powerful opportunity to positively affect the lives of others.  This belief plays an instrumental role in his on court philosophy, combining the learning process with self-awareness and high-energy fun in order to create a mutual learning experience!

Amanda Crider  
Tennis Professional/Camp Tuckahoe Director

Amanda has 8 years of tennis coaching experience focusing on youth tennis development through the QuickStart program.  As a junior, she competed in USTA tournaments and played 4 years of varsity tennis at Marshall High School.  At Marshall, she helped lead her team to become state semi-finalists and earned personal district and regional honors.  Her passion and enthusiasm for the game is always on display with her students. Amanda has had years of great coaching and is looking forward to sharing her expertise.
