Coach Jamie Davidson will be leading the fall clinics this season.  Jamie began diving at the age of 6 with a club team based out of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. From ages 8 through 18, Jamie dove for Chris Bergere. Beginning when he was 11 years old, Jamie made it to Nationals each year and most years made it to finals. As a 16 to 18 year old diver, Jamie won Junior Olympic Nationals and, as a result, was selected to attend the Junior World Championships that year. Jamie attended college for 3 years at LaSalle University, diving for Coach Chris Bergere. When Chris left to become a dive coach at the University of Michigan, Jamie transferred to the University of Texas to finish out his college diving career. Jamie currently works at Advanced Behavioral Modeling, Inc., and is a dive coach at Dominion Dive Club. Jamie has been coaching dive in the DC area for 8 years, and was the head coach at Pinecrest Swim and Tennis Club for 5 years before coming to Tuckahoe.

Tuckahoe Aquatics is pleased to offer its winter swim program beginning November 2, 2017 and running through May 20, 2018.  This program is for members and non-members interested in weekly swim instruction (stroke work, starts and turns, improving speed/efficiency, and conditioning).  Practices will be geared toward children who may participate in another sport and/or do not want to commit to a year-round swimming program.  The program will help all swimmers prepare for next year’s summer swim season as well as help improve their strokes.

Chris McPhaul is returning for his 11th consecutive year to direct the program.  Chris swam and helped coach at Tuckahoe (1973-1984), and was a lifeguard and water safety instructor both at TRC and Auburn University.  Previously, he coached Sea Devils Swimming and has also coached soccer and baseball.  He is currently active in the Montgomery County Swim League, where he officiates and cheers for his children.  The winter program coaching staff will also include accomplished former and current Tuckahoe senior swimmers.

The program will take place on Sunday evenings (6–6:45 pm for 8 and under swimmers and 6:45–7:45 pm for 9 and older swimmers) and Thursdays (6:15–7:00 pm for 8 and under swimmers). The program may encourage some swimmers to age up or down for sessions based on ability.

BACK IN 2018: SPRINT CLINIC! For a third year Tuckahoe Aquatics will offer this clinic on Thursday evenings from 7:00–8:00 p.m. for experienced competitive swimmers.  The clinic is for TRC members only and focuses on racing skills and improving speed. The program is intended for swimmers who will contend for summer Saturday meets, swimmers who swim as a second sport, and year-round USA swimmers who want to supplement their winter training with a weekly speed session.

Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with TRC members receiving priority. The cost is $300 (TRC member) per child per session and $375 (TRC non-member) with discounts for multiple family members.  There is an additional $150 fee for children who want to swim on Thursday AND Sunday.

Please contact Chris McPhaul at cmcphaul1@yahoo.com  for the registration information.
